Heating things up!

When it comes to cooking for the week it’s natural to want to cut corners.  So for this recipe the only item you will ever need to chop/touch is an onion (and garlic if you don’t have a jar of the pre-minced stuff). Now while this chili recipe is very easy and requires minimal effort, it doesn’t lack in flavor at all! I’ll warn you… it’s spicy…but with this polar vortex we call can use a little heat.

Teeza’s Quick-fix Chili

1 can black beans

1 can kidney beans

1 can diced tomatoes

1 Tbsp minced garlic

1 package (20.8 oz) of ground turkey

2 cups chicken broth (or 2 bouillon cups with 2 cups water)

1 chopped onion

1 can (2 oz) chopped chili peppers

1 Tbsp cayenne pepper

1/2 Tbsp paprika

1 Tbsp chili pepper

1/2 Tbsp cumin

1 Tbsp red pepper flakes

1 Tbsp olive oil

1.  Heat olive in pot

2. Sautee onions with ALL seasonings, and garlic until translucent

3. Add in ground turkey and brown

4. Add beans, tomatoes, and broth/water

5. Bring to a boil

6. Cover and let simmer for 1 hour

When I serve this I add 1/4 cup of rice and a dollop of greek yogurt/sour cream. YUM
